Mesa, Arizona Still Might See Its Huge Development

September 6, 2010 – Two years ago, Gaylord Entertainment Co. and DMB Associates told a large crowd in Mesa, Arizona that they were planning an enormous Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport development. Due to economic difficulties, the project has made very little progress. Now, the developers are asking for more time to build their 1,200 room resort, which would provide years of employment to the likes of Mesa general contractors and Tempe roofing contractors.

If approved for its extension, the Gaylord project would still take over a decade to reach full completion.

Though the former owner of the development ran into trouble with a bankruptcy filing last year, the new owners, the investment group SW Ownership LLC, has the construction back on track. Horseshoe Bay contractors and other local tradesmen are taking full advantage of the employment opportunities presented by the 1,200-unit Skywater project.

At completion, Skywater Over Horseshoe Bay will boast such amenities as a fitness center, recreation center, and a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. Area builders, like Marble Falls contractors, should pursue any yet unfilled subcontracting positions on this gated-community development.
