October 21, 2009 – Recently, construction commenced on a new, $56 million extended treatment a recovery center on Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. The Warrior Transition Battalion Complex will be constructed just off Cassidy Road, and will include a dormitory, administration building, and family support facilities. With the capability of serving more than 250 soldiers at a time, the new treatment center is expected to be completed as soon as 2011. Construction companies, including El Paso HVAC contractors and other surrounding tradesman, should actively pursue remaining subcontracting positions on this large construction project.
The Warrior Transition Battalion Complex is the first military construction project to utilize federal economic stimulus dollars. As the construction is intended to boost the local economy, El Paso contractors, as well as other regional businesses holding a contractors license, should contact Fort Bliss regarding opportunities on this project. Some features of the facility will include, elevators, handicapped accessible bathrooms, and refrigerated air conditioning for increased comfort during the hot Texas summers.
